What is Cookbook Club Naarm?
We’re a community of foodies who meet monthly to cook from a selected cookbook. Each ticket holder selects a recipe, makes it at home, and brings it along to share at our meet-up. It’s a chance to try new dishes, meet new people, and celebrate the cookbook together. This is our 14th event and we look forward to seeing you there!
Behind the Book: Rumi
Rumi: Food of Middle Eastern Appearance by Joseph Abboud is a cookbook‑memoir that blends Middle Eastern inspired recipes with personal stories from Joe's Lebanese‑Australian upbringing and his journey as a chef. It celebrates simple, soulful cooking rooted in Lebanese, Persian, and Turkish influences, while reflecting on identity, family, and the evolution of his Melbourne restaurant, Rumi.
